Inspiration for a painting comes from many places but a painting of my beloved Finn is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. This piece (in progress) will tie my love for my dog to my ocean inspired series, though it will not become part of this collection. The Woodworking and Fine Arts Weekend starts this

The Woodworking and Fine Arts Weekend starts this Friday with an artist’s reception from 5:00-8:00 pm. The show will run 9-4 Saturday and 10-3 on Sunday. It will be located at the Town Hall and Park on S. Main St in Northville, NY on the Great Sacandaga Lake. These pieces are part of the “Ocean Inspired” collection of 14 paintings that will be at this show. It’s sure to be a fun filled event with lots of local artisans, food, and music. Just finished this painting tentatively titled “Whispers of the Evening Sea,” and I couldn’t wait to share it with you. It’s a 24x18 acrylic piece capturing a serene seascape during one of those magical sunsets where the sky looks like a painter’s palette exploded. Imagine smooth rocks leading into calm waters, reflecting vibrant sunset colors that dance between deep blues, pinks, oranges, and yellows. I was inspired for this piece by the photography of Desiree Tedford @hall.pond.images and the beauty of a magical sunset over calm waters.
